4 Fab Podcasts To Entertain You Whilst Working From Home

Updated: Aug 25, 2020

We all know what's happening, so I'm not going to bore you with my thoughts on #Covid_19. This is our new normal for the time being. Instead, I thought I'd help you guys out with a quick list of my favourite podcasts to keep you entertained whilst being on Lockdown and working from home!

I've chosen a mixture of entertaining and educational podcasts, most of them will give you a good giggle, and they're easy to listen to whilst working, cleaning, or exercising at home. They can all be found on Spotify and other platforms and I will add links where I can!

So, without further ado, here are my top 4 favourite podcasts to keep you entertained whilst working from home!

1. No Such Thing As A Fish

Made by the QI Elves, or writers of QI to you and me, this podcast focuses on their favourite facts of the week. It’s the perfect podcast to listen to if you just want a giggle and to learn some really random facts. Plus, once the Lockdown is over and pubs are back open you’ll be full of knowledge to go out and win a pub quiz or two!

From the love lives of turtles to the inventor of Vaseline, each episode is full of humour, fascinating info, and a LOT of puns, so if you’re into that definitely check this out!

2. Queers Gone By

Created by two very hilarious queers, comedian Caitlin Powell and drag queen Kate Butch, this podcast is an absolute delight to be quite honest. Each episode they go back to their childhoods by reliving their favourite TV shows, films, and snacks in an attempt to find out if that’s what made them queer.

This podcast is perfect for any 20-something year old. They analyse shows like Raven, Totally Spies, and, of course, the amazing Tracy Beaker. So, if you’re looking for some nostalgia and a good time, give this podcast a listen!

3. Stuff You Should Know

Stuff You Should Know quite simply does what it says on the tin. Every episode of this podcast focuses on a different topic, from how ice climbing works to a full run down on sloths, and everything in between. There are hundreds of episodes going back years so they’ll keep you busy for a long time.

Josh and Chuck know a LOT. So if you’re looking to learn a thing or two, then check this podcast out! Not to mention they’re super funny and their voices are GREAT to listen to!

4. Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster

Two hilarious comedians, Ed Gamble and James Acaster, invite special guests into their magical restaurant to pick their ultimate dream meal. Yes, that’s right, an entire podcast dedicated to talking about food – what more could you want?!

This is a super lighthearted podcast, with fantastic guests like Katherine Ryan, Joe Lycett, Greg Davies, and Dara O Briain. James is, of course, a genie waiter which is just as hilarious as it sounds, and they get their guests to pick their favourite starter, main course, side dish, and dessert, with a few surprises along the way. Definitely one to listen to if you fancy a laugh!

BONUS! Adulting Made Uneasy

As a cheeky bonus entry, I thought I might add that myself and my partner have just released our own podcast! It is called Adulting Made Uneasy, and it is an unofficial guide to adulting by two twenty-somethings who most definitely don't know what they're doing!

"Picture this. It's 2020, there's a global pandemic, and you're currently in lockdown with your best pal. What do you do with your newfound time? You start a podcast of course! Partners, Loz and Dan, aim to tackle all the woes, worries, and adventures of adulthood as two people who have been handed these responsibilities without so much as a flat-pack Ikea instruction guide. Full of plenty of laughs, a few grumbles, and a boat-load of questions, join their journey as they attempt to work out what it really means to 'adult'."

If you do give them a listen, let me know what you think! And, as always, remember to stay safe, keep inside, and be grateful for what you do have whilst we navigate these troubled times!

Much love xo
